At a time when the measure of time as we know it tends to be compressed, when uncertainty tries to make wall with the distant horizons, MAåKi plays the card of the timelessness. The measure of time, the duo reappropriates it, as a personal testimony.

​

At the crossroads of classical music, progressive rock and electronic arrangements, MAåKi mixes a piano sometimes serious and introspective, sometimes euphoric and distant, with electronic sounds and sounds from elsewhere. Piano, synthesizers, hybrid drums, sharp beats and diverted noises intermingle in a fusional relationship, to deliver, without a word, an authentic sensory adventure, not stingy with images.

The first album of the duo, entitled "Tightrope", is presented like a collection of epigrams with an imperious path, with its beginning and its end (or not, you decide). The pieces of bravery follow one another during nearly 70 minutes, between epic tales, satires and biting fairy tale. 

​

MAåKi distills a universe that is both dark and luminous, mixing a form of lyrical romanticism and picturesque expression, with an omnipresent, organic, breathless sound matter. There is a whole world lurking in our shadows, beats, cracks, bubbles of life. And by twisting the sounds we can describe the indescribable.

Between intimate conversations and incisive pulses, up to ecstatic movements, MAåKi offers an incredible authenticity and the appearances of an ode to living music in its original essence.
